At 81 years of age I didn’t think twice about attending this rally since I absolutely am against this President, his cabinet and the Republican Majority at this point in time. I believed the rally was to be held at Hope High School then they would march down to the State House which I subsequently found out I was wrong the march ended at Providence City Hall. I spent some time figuring out before hand where to park as I thought I would be too tired to walk back to Hope High School after the rally dispersed. That trek would be mostly up-hill, something I wanted to avoid. So I decided I would park at the Department of Health parking lot since that department is usually closed on Saturdays”. What I did not plan for was the rain. Half way down Angell Street it started to rain consistently and kept on after arriving at City Hall. When I had enough I started to walk back to my car and I ran into my wife and two neighbors, Marcia and Marjorie. They took the bus in the am to get to the rally. We decided to get out of the rain and availed ourselves at the opportunity to go to “TRACK 15” for a bite to eat. It was mobbed however I did manage to find an open table where we sat, enjoyed coffee, burger and tacos. All excellent, would not hesitate to go again. Finally off to get my car, a good mile away then pick up my wife/neighbors’ in front of the mall. Finally made it home, exhausted. Took a nap…lol…..
The following images were all taken from Hope High to City Hall. Lots of chanting and applause from people on the sidewalk. The amount of protesters was way more than I expected to see. Democracy is alive in Rhode Island.
Very encouraging photographs! We owe you and all those who went there to speak for all of us a great big thank you!
YES!!!!! If I were home I would also have participated! Thx for posting!!
