Step Stone Falls, Exeter, R.I. 2023

May 16, 2023 by James Turner

Yesterday Cemal and I went to Step Stone Falls one of our favorite places to photograph. We were thinking since the spring had some good bouts of rain the water level at Step Stone would be fantastic. Well that did not disappoint as there was plenty of water and water movement. Beautiful sunny day with hazy blue sky. After a few hours we both were tired. We forgot how downhill, not steep, rather consistent it is as we traverse the falls themselves. We are looking forward to returning in the fall for the colors and reflections.

Ah, my legs were complaining while my back tried to get a word in! The steps are fine for the water to fall but are getting harder to go down and then up. It was indeed enjoyable. The amount of water prevented me from going down further but you found ways to traverse the water. May repeat with hesitation!! Thanks for the ride, Jim.
