This is the third year I have photographed Pride and have been looking forward to this years celebration for the simple reason that this festivity is just “out and out fun.” Last year I printed up some images to take with me with the intent of seeing the person in the image then gifting them with it. This year I went with 6 images and returned with one, learning that that person has since moved to another State.
I was sitting outside the Dark Lady during the recent PVD Fest enjoying a shot of tequila and a beer when engaging in a conversation with another person who also was armed with a camera and lens. Turned out he was a formal photographer for Gay Pride Committee. One thing led to another and before I knew it I had an offer to join the photography troupe for this years’ Pride. With some hesitancy I accepted and am very pleased I did. The photography group were great and having an inside pass, so to speak, for access to photograph Pride went way beyond my expectations.
The weather turned out to be gorgeous. The crowds enormous and the gaiety second to none. Just a fun fabulous event, in my opinion, not to be missed. Get out and enjoy our diversity. After all, love is love is love!
Since many of my submitted images have been posted on Facebook, search Rhode Island Pride, I will choose images, for the most part, that are not included in the folder posted on Facebook.
All seem to have had fun, and of course, you! It was quite a crowded place.
Cemal
Cemal, I believe it was the largest attendance in RI Pride history. Even more than 45’s inauguration….
Great photos Jim showing a diversity of people participating in the gay pride event. Colors are bright. Congratulations on a fantastic array of photos.
Appreciate the comments Doris. Wonderful event.
