View of the London Eye

April 16, 2016 by James Turner

The London EyeRecently my wife and I vacationed in London where I took some time to visit my father’s place of birth (see previous post). One of the sights I wanted to visit while in London was the Eye. Traveling around the city I noticed that the Eye was visible from many locations. The following images are of that view with some added images of the view from inside the pod on the Eye itself. The view from atop the Eye of London is spectacularly panoramic. From its apex you see two towers which bookend Westminster. Elizabeth tower, the tower to the right or east, houses “Big Ben.” While the west tower is called Victoria. Visiting the London Eye was way beyond my expectation to experience. The last image is of two staffers with selfie like sticks that have mirrors attached checking the pod after passengers had disembarked for articles left behind.

It is not your father’s ferris wheel! The pods look quite spacious and the view from above is like from a plane or chopper. Nice collection Jim.

Thank you Cemal. London, as you said to me before I left, ” is fantastic “.
